As one of the 31 constituent colleges within the University of Cambridge, King’s College traces its origins back to its establishment by King Henry VI in 1441. Since then, the college has remained steadfast in its commitment to embody Henry’s passion for “education, religion, learning, and research.”

King’s College, formally known as The King’s College of Our Lady and Saint Nicholas, situated in Cambridge along the banks of the River Cam and overlooking King’s Parade in the city centre.

Renowned for its late English Gothic architecture, King’s College Chapel boasts the world’s largest fan vault, exquisite stained-glass windows, and a remarkable wooden chancel screen. The chapel symbolises the essence of Cambridge and serves as the home to the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge. Each Christmas Eve, millions worldwide tune in to the broadcast of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from the chapel, a tradition originally conceived by Edward White Benson in 1880 and adapted by college dean Eric Milner-White in 1918. Upon admission to the college, individuals become lifelong members. Among its alumni are distinguished figures such as prime ministers, archbishops, presidents, and scholars. Notably, King’s College boasts eight Nobel laureates among its former students or fellows. The prestigious academic institution, King’s College, Cambridge, serves as the perfect setting for the global knowledge exchange at GRC 2024.
